No Dumps: How We Build ciply's Practice Questions
Published July 8, 2026 · Facts last verified against the official sources on July 8, 2026
The certification-prep market has a quiet problem: a lot of what is sold as "practice questions" is actually dumps — real exam questions that someone memorized, leaked, and passed around. We built ciply on the opposite principle. Here is how we make our questions, and why it changes what you get out of them.
What a dump is, and why it fails you
A dump is a set of live exam questions someone copied from memory after sitting the exam. Beyond the obvious ethics, studying from dumps fails you in three practical ways.
First, it teaches recognition, not understanding. You learn to match specific questions, so the moment the wording changes, you are lost. Second, dumps go stale the instant an exam is updated — and exams do change. AZ-900 was refreshed in July 2026, and AI-900 was retired and replaced by AI-901. Third, relying on leaked content puts the very certification you are paying for at risk. You end up memorizing an answer key and learning almost nothing.
How we build instead: clean-room
Every ciply question is written from scratch against the official exam outline. The process is deliberately strict:
- We read the official Microsoft Learn page for a topic first. We never write from memory.
- We write an original question that tests that specific objective.
- Every explanation ends with a link to the free, public, official page where you can check the answer yourself.
- No dumps, no leaked material, no paywalled books. If a fact cannot be traced to a free official source, it does not go in.
We check our own originality
Writing from a source, it is easy to unintentionally echo its wording. So we scan every question against the source text and reword anything that reproduces the source's phrasing — the same check we run on the article you are reading right now. The facts stay exact, because facts should; the words are our own.
Why this is better for you
- You actually learn. Questions built around objectives teach understanding, and understanding survives a reworded exam question in a way memorized answers never do.
- You can verify everything. Every answer links to the official page, so you are never asked to simply trust us.
- You are not exposed. There is no leaked exam content here to put your certification at risk.
- It stays current. Because we track the official outlines, when an exam changes we update our material rather than scramble.
The part that is slow on purpose
Before any question reaches you, a person reviews and signs off on it. "Built" does not become "published" until it has been checked. That is far slower than scraping a dump site and reselling it — and that gap is the entire point.
This is the unglamorous, honest way to build exam prep, and we think it is the only version worth paying for. See it for yourself: our AZ-900 and AI-901 practice exams each include free sample questions, and every answer is sourced.
We track every exam we cover.
When Microsoft changes one of them, we send one short email: what changed, and what it means.
